I want to focus on happiness. No expectations, no limits, all change and acceptance. Ten years ago, I lived a much different path. But the path that led me to where I am today, has been the best experience of my life.
I think it’s important to understand an open mind when considering the way we WANT to be and live rather than how society tells us to be.
Ten years from now, I want to focus on the journey. Live everyday, live in every moment with my husband, children and family. Take walks while I look around rather than just at the ground, laugh more, cry less and remember to take my vitamins.
I want to completely invest myself in my family, forget materialistic items, status, money and judgement. No longer will I take time for granted and I will write as much as I can. I want to take photos of the little things that I could soon forget and practice patience rather than pace. Slowing down to breathe in silence and noise as I watch my children sleep and play.
Why create boundaries and limits, let social media influence our lives and miss every moment we’ve been waiting for?
Yes, you. In the midst of our crazy and insane lives, opportunity is one of the last things we look for. Our day to day routine is so permanent that often times we forget to think anew.
Take some time to slow down, reflect on your most favorite activities this week. What do you enjoy? What sets your soul free?
Mine consist of fishing, being surrounded by mountains and trees and gazing into the night stars. (I’ve always had a passion for astronomy and astrophysics) Start setting goals for yourself, small and large. Find what makes your heart rush and go for it! Today is not just another day. It is a new opportunity, another chance, and a new beginning, embrace it and love the change.
My first meaningful task for you is to seek God where you doubt He lives. You may be thinking, why? Because where you least expect to find faith, is right where it is. Often times we assume the worst of places or things that have no relation to happiness or joy, simply because we do not see it. This is where the light you keep must shine. To bring warmth to the cold and welcome a new growth.
My family and I have just recently moved to beautiful North Carolina, 2200 miles away from where we’ve lived the past several years. Uprooting wasn’t the difficult part for me honestly, I felt like I couldn’t leave that place soon enough.. but now the re-establishing element is what has thrown me for a whirlwind. I am digging deep to find the light I have to shine in our new lives and new jobs.
Follow me along my journey to becoming a teacher, raising our daughter and spreading the light we all have within!
